I Killed my CRM

I killed my CRM. Best decision I've made all year.

I killed my CRM. It's the best decision I've made all year.

CRM software is complex and hard to navigate, and compliance is a constant headache. A CRM user needs two things: what do I need to do today, and how are the numbers looking.

Here's how I went from managing my CRM to growing my business instead.

I hired a personal assistant to manage my CRM for me. That assistant happens to be an AI agent. The agent can read and write to the records I choose. I told it, in plain English, what I want to see each day, when I want to see it, my task list, and how I want to close out.

Most of my CRM work happens in a Slack channel now. The agent is my assistant. I leave short text or voice memos and the agent cleans up note updates the CRM, schedules follow ups etc.

If I have a question I don't open a CRM and hunt for an answer. I drop the question in Slack and the agent provides a complete and detailed answer.

I get a morning brief with numbers, tasks, and my important meetings flagged and prioritized. At the end of the day, I get a summary of what's still open so I can close out clean.

I rarely touch a keyboard. I talk to the agent on my computer like it's a phone call, the agent finds the record and updates it, and it flags anything I forgot to mention, like an open item that needs a follow-up. This saves 15+ minutes in post call clerical work. That's just one example of time saved. Across a week, between call clean up, searches and daily updates I save 2+ hours a week. That's one entire working day per month.

CRM tools have been capturing my email for years, but they never did much with it. Now the agent reviews my emails overnight and leaves a summary waiting for me in the morning. (I don't let it write emails for me. That still needs to come from me.)

Put bluntly: I don't manage my CRM anymore. My AI agent does, and it does a better job keeping me on task than I did for myself. I hand off the clerical work and focus on the conversations that matter.

Are you still managing the grunt work in your CRM?

Let's talk about how to transform your CRM to an executive assistant rather than another application to manage.
